History

Dave Polster has provided consulting services to public and private sector clients since 1977. He is well known for innovations in the restoration of steep and unstable slopes. Dave teaches courses in soil bioengineering for steep slope and riparian restoration as well as providing specific recommendations for treatment of problem sites. Dave has been involved in mine land reclamation, environmental impact assessments and impact mitigation studies for over 30 years. For the past 20 years he has also been involved in the development of innovative strategies for vegetation management (steam treatment of railway weeds) and invasive species control (carpet burweed and other invasive plants). Dave Polster has served as the president of the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (twice) and is currently the treasurer of the BC Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration. He was recently appointed to the advisory committee for the restoration of the storm damage in Stanley Park.  He is on the Board of the Association of Professional Biologists of BC.
